Leica Oskar Barnack Award

For more than 30 years, the German camera manufacturer Leica has held its renowned annual photography competition »Leica Oskar Barnack Award«. Recently Leica also calles upon young professionals to enter the competition, and, also recently, applications could be made exclusively via the website.

The site was designed to provide a functional platform for a huge amount of very diverse, large format photographs, while retaining a typical Leica-appearance. By the end of the contest 2009, there had been more than 1200 applications from over 75 countries, a threefold increase from the previous year.
