After studying philosophy, art history and communication design, Karsten Thormaehlen learnt his trade as a photographer in the international fashion and advertising business. His work has been presented in exhibitions all over the world since the 1980s, has received numerous awards and has been published in several books.

The online portfolio presents the photographer's work on the concrete wall of his studio. The wall texture is also used in the blog design as well as all of the print products, resulting in a coherent appearance and high recognisability.
